2. Education

Jonas was born and raised in Surabaya, in a family that valued both business and academic excellence. His father is a senior engineer at a well-known shipping company and has been involved in several major port-related projects in Indonesia. His mother is a lecturer in economics at Universitas Airlangga, specializing in Southeast Asian economic issues.

From a young age, Jonas developed a strong interest in economics and finance. He attended SMAK Santo Louis 1 (St. Louis 1 Catholic Senior High School) in Surabaya for his secondary education, where he consistently performed well and earned strong results in several national mathematics competitions.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universitas Indonesia (UI), with a minor in Information Systems. He achieved an excellent academic record (GPA approximately 3.7/4.00), ranking in the top 10% of his major, and was awarded a university scholarship.He later pursued a Master’s degree in a finance-related program at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Additionally, he completed a short executive course on Private Equity and Venture Capital at Harvard Business School.

3. Professional Experience

From 2002 to 2006, Jonas worked at Morgan Stanley’s Singapore office in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets division, where he focused on cross-border transactions involving Indonesia and other ASEAN markets.

In 2008, he joined Nusantara Equity Partners, a private equity firm specializing in opportunities across Southeast Asia. He started as an Analyst, progressed to Senior Analyst, then became an Investment Manager, and was promoted to Partner in 2018.

He currently leads parts of the firm’s investment strategy, with a particular focus on fintech, digital health, and renewable energy sectors. He manages fund commitments worth several hundred million USD and directly supervises an investment team of 6–8 professionals.

Rekan menyebutnya “manusia supercomputer” karena mampu menemukan variabel kunci dari ribuan data pulau dalam hitungan detik. Obsesif mengecek laporan due diligence, namun selalu mengedepankan gotong royong dan tidak otoriter. Meski kerja keras, tetap menjalankan salat Jumat dan makan bersama keluarga dengan nasi padang. Melepas stres dengan menyelam (PADI Rescue Diver) di Lombok dan Raja Ampat sambil mendokumentasikan pemutihan karang, serta bermain gamelan (memiliki satu set gamelan Jawa abad ke-19 di rumah).

  • Married to an Indonesian environmental lawyer, one son and one daughter. Every Ramadan the family returns to the old house in Surabaya and takes a wooden boat in the Madura Strait.

Muhammad Arief Santoso

Director of Digital & Intelligent Finance Investment
As head of AAC's digital finance and intelligent finance division, Arief leads Bank Digital, Sharia Fintech, the QRIS ecosystem, blockchain settlement, and the iteration and deployment of the real-time model “Volcano Chain AI”. He directly manages a 35-person cross-country research team and leads 8–12 early-stage to growth projects every quarter. Core responsibilities include: real-time GMV data capture from TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada and MSME cash flows, building alternative credit scoring based on satellite imagery and location data; dynamic position sizing and profit-taking at high-consumption moments such as Ramadan, Eid, and back-to-school season; leading regulatory sandbox cooperation with Bank Indonesia, OJK, and Singapore authorities to advance cross-country QRIS compatibility and shariah-compliant standards. In the first half of 2025, the digital bank and smart payments portfolios he leads posted +38% and +29% respectively. He is also responsible for calibrating rainy/dry season parameters in “Volcano Chain AI” so portfolio drawdown stays below 4% even when the Rupiah fluctuates more than 10%. Arief also manages digital finance education content for the member community, delivering “micro-class + review real-disk” monthly to nearly 400,000 Indonesian members, helping MSME entrepreneurs raise average annual returns from 8% to 41%.

Dra. Putu Ayu Srimathi

Director of Green & Sustainable Infrastructure Investment
Putu Ayu has full responsibility for AAC's green growth strategy and execution, covering the full geothermal value chain, nickel-battery-EV ecosystem, sustainable RSPO palm oil, port REIT, and green sukuk issuance, directly managing a 45-person green research team in ASEAN. She leads implementation of the USD 60 billion co-investment agreement with Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), locking in four golden tracks, and reviews and drives 12–15 national-level PPP projects every quarter. Key responsibilities include: screening and due diligence of high-potential geothermal projects such as Sarulla and Star Energy leveraging the 35 GW plan and Pacific Ring of Fire advantage; building AI risk-control models for nickel mining, real-time production monitoring in Sulawesi and Maluku and rainy-season transport disruption; financing RSPO palm oil supply chains (2025 has covered 420,000 hectares of sustainable plantations); leading ASEAN port REIT and Sulawesi nickel mine Pre-IPO projects using BKPM strategic project channels to secure government guarantee and 5-year tax holiday. In the first half of 2025, the green portfolio she leads rose 29.3% on average, reduced carbon emissions by 1.2 million tons, and created 15,000 direct and 195,000 indirect jobs. James Michael Harrington

Senior Vice President – Head of Impact Analytics Hub & ESG Strategy
James leads AAC's Impact Analytics Hub and all global ESG strategy from the dual San Francisco–New York headquarters, reporting directly to the founder. He is responsible for integrating the strictest Wall Street ESG assessment framework with environmental and social variables specific to the Indonesian archipelago, ensuring every investment meets OJK green classification, EU ESMA regulation, and Islamic sukuk standards. Core tasks include building and updating real-time satellite + drone databases covering 12 million Indonesian MSMEs, 6,000 geothermal wells, and 450,000 hectares of RSPO palm plantations; leading rainy-season flood alert mechanisms and 7-day reverse repo trigger; developing Ramadan consumption prediction models and lower blockchain settlement costs; publishing “Tropical Impact Report” measuring carbon reduction tonnage, green jobs, and pesantren coverage. In 2025, the green sukuk and geothermal PPP portfolio he leads received the highest OJK certification and 5-year tax exemption, channeling USD 7.8 billion into Indonesia's sustainable infrastructure. He is also responsible for ESG roadshows to Silicon Valley family offices, European pension funds, and Saudi PIF, keeping AAC in the top three of “Global Impact Capital 30”.
